Pearson submitted a joint grant application to the Rockefeller Foundation for a project on “Comprehensive Research into the Social and Economic Effects of the Use of Money in Non-western and Early Societies”. A Second application was submitted by Karl Polanyi for a project on ”Comparative Study of Early Forms of Trade, Money and Market Institutions”. Both applications were refused. |
